Purification: New Logo, New Record Artwork and South American Tour

Italy's Purification has been hard at work completing their new record "A Torch To Pierce The Night". While they were finishing up, they contacted Dave Quiggle to design a brand new logo for them (which can be seen above). Not quite sure who is releasing the record but I think its Hurry Up Records...as if the band hadn't already been busy, they have planned a tour of South America. Dates are posted below. For all the up to date information, check out the official Purification website.

Purification: New CD and South American Tour

According to Monster:
We're going to record a final cd, the title will be "A torch to pierce the night" , will be a mix of new songs and some "old-classics" re-visited, plus we'll have a couple of songs with lyrics in spanish and portoguese. The lay-out will be done by Dave Quiggle. More infos soon!

No official word on tour dates yet but as soon as we hear it, you will too.

Roma Straight Edge: The New Season compilation 7"

Here's an Italian sXe compilation 7" from the '90s based around a group of friends & bands from Rome, Italy, called the Roma Straight Edge Legion. It's got 4 sXe hardcore bands on it: Strength Approach, Redemption, Dehumanize and Reinforced, who were all fairly new bands at the time. My personal faves on here are Redemption and Dehumanized, mostly cuz they're the metallic hardcore bands on here, the other 2 play more old school youth crew inspired hardcore, and they're not the greatest bands ever to play that style.

This 7", released in 1996, was the first release on Surrounded Records, which was a label run by Maurizio Ricci, who was in Reinforced at the time, but is better known as the singer of Purification, an Italian vegan sXe band, which was also formed in 1996. Surrounded Records would afterwards release a Dehumanize 7" and a Redemption 7" among other things. Strength Approach is the only band of these 4 still going to this day, playing shows, recording and touring all the time.

An Official Statement from Purification

Yesterday, Monster from Purification sent me an email addressing the rumors that the band has any affiliations with any time of racist movement. Here's what the band had to say on the issue:

In reply to the false rumors that have been circulating, we want to make clear that Purification NEVER had, has or will have anything to do with any xenophobe, nationalist, fascist or nazist movement.
We are outraged by those people filled with envy and hate with nothing better to do that spread false news over the web to put Purification in a bad light.
We invite also whoever has any doubt or question about Purification to talk to us at any of the upcoming European shows.

Warm regards

The band is currently finishing up tracking 2 new songs for the re-release of their full length "Banging The Drums Of War" which will be released through Burning Season Records sometime this summer.
