Song Of Kerman / Handful Of Dust - split 7"

Another request, and another release on Moo Cow Records. This time it's the Handful Of Dust / Song Of Kerman split 7" from 1998. I know very little about Handful Of Dust from NJ. They used keyboards as an integral part of their sound, which usually means the end-result is complete shit. However, these 2 songs are pretty good, surprisingly enough, the industrial edge of both the keyboards and the music definitely helps here. I have no idea if this band did any other releases. Song Of Kerman from Florida was ex-Gray Before My Eyes, a band that had already released a 7" on Moo Cow Records. Song Of Kerman did a 7", this split 7" and an LP (the LP would also be released on Moo Cow Records). Solid emo-ish hardcore with political lyrics and a (feminist) spoken word track with feedback & piano soundtrack underneath. Love the 1st track, the 2nd track not so much, although the words (by William Lloyd Garrison) are intense and still ring true. I don't know their other 7", but the LP is also pretty good. All in all, a good split, so check it out.
