I spoke to Ryan from the Well recently and he gave me the go ahead to upload some rare Poison the Well recordings. Granted these tracks have been floating around online for a long time now, Im happy that Ryan said it was cool to "officially" post them. If you've never heard this before, this was recorded in between The Opposite of December and Tear From The Red with the lineup being Jeff, Ryan, Derek, and Chris (Ryan played bass on the recording as well as guitar). The story behind these songs is they were recorded originally to released as a split with Twelve Tribes. That fell through which led the tracks to then be slated to be released as a split with Tallahassee straight edge band A New Kind Of American Saint. While this was happening, SA Mob Records and Jawk Records were co-releasing the record and had some problems as well. To make a long story short, this record never came out and to be honest, its a real shame. I STRONGLY prefer this version of "Sticks and Stones..." to the one on Tear From The Red (not saying I dont like that version, but I prefer the recording on this one). Also, the band recorded a cover of Smashing Pumpkins "Today". Again, these have been circulating for a while but its nice to have the band say "yes its okay for people to have this". Enjoy.

As far as I know, this is the only recording from New Jersey based vegan straight edge band Sevin. This was released on Militant Records in 1995 and includes an explanation of the band's morals and what they believe. 4 songs of heavy chugging hardcore. Also included is their track from the Stones to Mark a Fire/Ceremony Of Fire comps.

Gabe requested this one, so here we have Arson's debut EP "Words Written In Blood". This features the original singer Arthur and has quite possibly the best intro to a song ever. 5 songs that were originally released on New Jersey-based Resurrection AD Records. As everything else that has been posted, this is way out of print and its a shame because its a great release. Ill see if I can track down their full length, but until then enjoy.

I just received this from Jav who is helping with the release of the CD and vinyl version of Disembodied "Psalms of Sheol". The release is going to include all of Disembodied's out of print vinyl releases, demos, and B-sides and will be released on Prime Directive Records. Heres a statement from Jav regarding the release:

"Psalms Of Sheol is nearing completion, but there have been some challenges with the layout. The band wants everything to be perfect, and for the first time they are 100% in control of every aspect of the record, from the mixing to every detail in the layout, and they want to make sure there is nothing to regret.

I CAN tell you that the master tracks have been sent to the pressing plant, and all thats left now is the layout to be finalized.

No further details about a release date can be dropped now, but Disembodied's presence on the internet is stronger than ever, so if you own a computer you will find out sooner than later.

The band will also be doing special limited edition t-shirts through Hellfish, and by limited i mean they are only making as many as are pre-ordered. A new design will be made every month beginning August first. Don't sleep on this!!!"

Florida's Poison The Well will be releasing their new album "The Tropic Rot" on Tuesday July 7 through Ferret Records. While many of you may be asking "does it sound like The Opposite of December", the answer is no. I honestly think its a great progression for the band and the production quality came out sound incredible. Core members Ryan, Jeff, and Chris are still plugging away and are now joined by past touring/now permanent members Brad Clifford and Brad Grace. If you'd like to check out the new record, click here. The band is gearing up for few long months of touring. Check out their Myspace for upcoming tourdates.

One of New Jersey's finest. Real chaotic, noisy hardcore. You And I would eventually dissolve and members would start the band "The Assistant".

A message from Steve Fallis:

Hey everyone,

At Both Ends zine has been pretty quiet over the past few years but coming this fall will be a final issue. This is something special I’ve been planning for a while; it’s going to be really cool so hopefully you’ll dig it.

This thing is going to be a monster in the 160-page range with full colour covers on some nice, coated paper. Expect something really slick. Some of the major articles will include Sick Of It All, Bane, Shai Hulud, Shook Ones, Greg Bennick, Anchor, To Kill, and Wait In Vain, and a ton more. There’s just too much content to list here.

Every zine will come with a double 7” compilation; each band listed will contribute two brand new songs.
-Grade: A brand new recording from 4 original members of one of Canada's best. They’ve been broken up for seven years but are back in the studio recording specifically for this.
-Bane: Their first new recording since The Note was released four years ago.
-Between Earth And Sky: Greg Bennick of Trial’s new band along with members of Strain and By A Thread.
-Unrestrained: From Portland, OR. Includes former members of Desperate Measures, Pulling Teeth, and The Dead Unknown.

I was never a huge Cast Iron Hike fan but I saw them plenty of times and they were always great live. Being that they were from the Boston area, this release (which I believe it their first) was the first for Big Wheel Recreation which would go on to release records from Piebald, In My Eyes, and Fastbreak among others. 4 songs from these future Victory signees.
