The Dillinger Escape Plan has been murdering my ears since they formed in 1997, and I still can't get enough. Their new album One Of Us Is The Killer is far from disappointing. In fact, I've had it on constant rotation since it's release and I'm pretty obsessed. They have stayed true to their sound and are still crazy as fuck when they perform. I don't think this band will ever lose it's steam. Here's some footage from their recent tour promoting One Of Us Is The Killer.

This is the version of vinyl package I received when I pre-ordered the album. I couldn't be more pleased with the quality and presentation. I'm stoked that bands like this still exist.

Looks like Old Man Gloom has a new album in the works and they need some money to help put it out. I don't know about you, but I'm totally willing to shell out $15 and some change to help make that happen. They posted a link today with several shirt designs from various tours and a limited edition Thomas Hooper poster that up for grabs at www.shirtsanddestroy.com. OMG last toured February of this year with Converge as the headlining act. Kurt Ballou, Converge guitarist and well known producer, will be putting out the album. Being that I'm a huge fan of theirs, and all of the members other bands, I can't wait to see what they have in store. Here's a few items they have for sale, check out the rest HERE.

I wanted to say thank you to the fellas at Stuck In The Past for inviting me to be a part of their webzine. We originally connected via Instagram (vinylxdenim) where I showcase my continuous love for 90's hardcore music and culture. I am forever grateful that I was around in those days to see the bands that I saw and just be a part of a movement that was so profound. Connecting with people who can relate to those experiences is such an awesome feeling. I'm excited to have another outlet to share my love for the hardcore scene, 90's bands, fliers, photos, vinyl, and whatever else music related. I hope you enjoy what I have to share. -Shawna

When I was uploaded the Voice Of The Voiceless, someone (might have been Guav) mentioned Rob R Rock. I realized I had intended on uploading this a while back but never got around to it so here we are. Honestly, it's really not that bad...sounds like hip hop of the era (late 80's, early 90's). I found this little tidbit of info from Rob himself on the Livewire board:

"For what its worth, that track "Cruelty Free" was kind of slapped together during a recording session DJ Evercool and I did at that time. The rest of the session is much tighter and serious lyrically. It came out as the HARDCORE REALITY "straight up" 12" on a German label, Brain Police. (It also has the SxE counterpart to "Cruelty Free"... "Poison Free")."

Not sure of the year but maybe 1991 or somewhere in that range. I honestly don't know if there was an actual cover for the 12 inch or if this sticker you see above was the only thing so if anyone knows, let us know.

I hope you guys enjoy it.

Hey guys,

Sorry for my lack of input lately but up until recently I had been working 3 jobs so my time was limited for anything. But I did go and see that a few of you had requested to have a few links fixed. I did get to some of them and they have been updated. See below:

Despair - As We Bleed

Inside - 2010 Demo

Wrench - Both Records

Voice Of The Voiceless compilation

Click any of the links to be taken directly to the post. If you guys have anymore requests for links that are down, shoot me an email at xchipxsem@gmail.com and I'll get them fixed. I'm also going to try and get more of the layouts scanned with the post.

More exciting news for us, we'd like to welcome to our friends Shawna to the group. She'll be helping us out as a regular contributor and we're happy to have her on board.

Lastly, keep those requests coming. If we don't have it, we'll do our best to try and track it down. Thanks for sticking with us for all these years.

Extinction was a straight edge band from Chicago, active in the mid-to-late 90s. The band had two releases, one being this four song EP and the other being Hypocrisy Breeds Traitors. Both were released on Catalyst Records and are long out of print. I wanted to share the layout of What You Have Created (otherwise known as the Enemy of the People 7"), particularly due to the meaning behind each song that was included in the insert.

"What You Have Created..." (1997)

Track List:
1) Ignominy
2) Replica
3) 220
4) Enemy of the People

With the upswing in an easy ability to create and maintain websites in the mid 2000s, print zines saw a very sharp decline around the same time.  Although there were at least three horrible zines for every great one out there, the internet created a wasteland of over-exerted opinions in the form of livejournal, blogger (yes, I know) and wordpress.  Rumpshaker ended its run in 1999 prior to this changing of the guard, and it was always a shining example of what a great zine should be.

Fast forward 13 years, and Rumpshaker has come back with issue number six, and Eric doesn't seem to have missed a beat at all.  At 144 pages, it's a lot to take in, but just like the days of yore, he has packed it with great content.

Interviews with Mike Judge, Limp Wrist and Sick Of It All are the standouts for me, simply due to my affection for the subjects at hand.  Even with the bands I have little to no interest in, Eric has continued to hold my interest by asking questions that aren't run of the mill and found in every single other interview out there.  However, that's nothing new for Rumpshaker, and is one of the qualities that always set it above and beyond most other zines in my eyes.

In one of the most intriguing ongoing segments in memory, Eric once again interviewed three musicians (Walter Schreifels, Dan Yemin and Chuck D) and their mothers.  Getting an inside look into how a mother views their child getting into and progressing with underground culture is heavily interesting, and always made me look forward to the next issue of Rumpshaker, of which hopefully there will be another.

The bottom line here is that Rumpshaker came out of the box 13 years later with a top notch zine.  Pick it up!

After many years of speculation and rumors, the self titled Handsome record will finally be released on vinyl by 6131 Records.  They currently have a shirt up for pre-order, and the record will surely follow suit shortly.  Let's all keep our fingers crossed that the two tracks from the European bonus CD will be included as well.
