This one came int he mail today. Strife...when they were still straight edge. My favorite part of the whole situation was when they said they were "never a straight edge band". Well my shirt says otherwise...either way, still listen to all their material regularly. This is from the One Truth era and its in pretty good shape...why don't more bands print live pictures on the back of their shirts anymore?

Yeah they back pedaled on the Edge issue pretty bad. I know a few other bands that have done the same unfortunately. These guys always killed it live though.
Every time they were supposed to play here they canceled. The only time I can remember was in 1994 which was months before I started going to shows. Super bummed I never got to see em
thats one of my fave songs ! i had a lot of strife gear but i sold them all just because the band sucked so bad on their reunion tour ! i was deeply disappointed !
Don't feel bad, Chip. I've never seen Strife either. I know they played Seattle in like 94, but I was too young to drive, and Portland didn't have a new school scene at the time for them to book a show. They did play here on the reunion tour though, but I refused to go.
"One Truth wasn't about straight edge"....right. Even funnier is how Victory edited out all of the sxe content for the dvd re-release of the One Truth video. You no longer get to see/hear that goon Rick say "straight edge, the new era of punk rock!" haha
xjustinx, the "one truth" slogan comes from the song "throught and through" which is clearly talking about love...
we played with them when they came in Quebec in 2008, and I can say that beyond all the straight edge things... they are by far some of the coolest people in "big bands" we have played with... no attitude, no pretention. they were there for our set, talked with us and everything. I mean, they are not some kind of "pseudo-tough guys" trying to prove themself... such as shitty bands like trapped under ice for exemple...
I, too, was pretty bummed to know they were not straight edge anymore when they came back together for angermeans but.. you know, there is something more powerful than this sxe thing and it's the friendship.. I'm sure they would have come back as a straight edge band and some people would have talk shit anyway so, why take this toooo seriously?!
