My dude Grant from Bitter Melody Records hit me up to let us know about the new band Fires & Floods. He's releasing their record soon and dropped some information off which you can read below:

"fires & floods is a labor of love on all counts. As Matt put it, “This is the first band I've been in since I was 19 that wasn't a serious, oft-touring band that I relied on for income...it's literally a labor of passion.”

These guys have played together for years but despite real world callings and careers still can’t resist playing and creating. fires & floods first LP is fast, dark and ferocious. The project is made up of Rob Fusco, Matt Canning , Phil Bryer, Tony Capponi, and Sean Ward. The mastering is being finished up now by Dean Baltulonis.

Rob is best known for his work in One King Down, Most Precious Blood, and more recently Recon. Matt and Phil played for Twilight Collective and Matt also played in Shai Hulud, Dark Day Dawning and xWIDOMAKERx. Tony and Sean played in Passion and Tony also played with Matt in the Dark Day Dawning and xWIDOWMAKERx.

The Voice at Your Heels will be released this spring on Bitter Melody Records via vinyl and digital distribution.

“The great thing about the hardcore scene(s) is that members from different bands are always up to the challenge of creating new music with each other. It’s been happening since always and there have been some great side-projects and bands come out of the willingness to experiment and explore.
“Here we have Fires & Floods. Based out of Philadelphia, PA, the band boasts a few members that should be recognized: Rob Fusco (One King Down/Most Precious Blood), Matt Canning (Shai Hulud/Twilight Collective), Phil Bryer (Twilight Collective), Emidio Capponi (bass), and Sean Ward (drums).
The sound of Fires & Floods is well-steeped in hardcore but there is a meanness and ferocity permeating throughout. It’s taking the best and harshest aspects of hardcore, grind, and even speed metal and shaking them until a new sound is made. Or something close to that. You’ll have to listen for yourself…and you can! The band has a Bandcamp page set up where you can listen to three demo tracks. The band’s debut album, The Voice at Your Heels, is being mastered right now by Dean Baltulonis and will be released by Bitter Melody Records. The same label who so far has put out a few note-worthy Most Precious Blood and Indecision reissues.”

My friend, Tim, came over a couple of weeks ago with a handful of Indecision cassettes for me to convert to mp3.  For those that don't know, Indecision released quite a few tapes over the course of their tenure, so there are even more out there aside from these four that I'm going to post.  If anyone has some of the other tapes, and you'd like to send me dubs to convert, please get in touch!

Indecision - Three More Songs [Demo 95/96]

Indecision - Dashboard Icons [demo 1996]

 Indecision - Live!!! [10-31-97]

The following cassette contained a mixture of tracks from To Live And Die In New York City and Release The Cure, followed by two unreleased covers and five live songs.  I only converted the covers and live songs since all of the other tracks are readily available.

I received an email from Derek Morse letting me know that he and Rachel Rosen from Most Precious Blood have launched a record label and will release the vinyl version of the new MPB full length. Here's what they had to say:

Most Precious Blood - On Their Own Terms

Rachel and I started the label to give back to a music scene that saved the both of our lives. Most Precious Blood – Do Not Resuscitate limited colored Vinyl will be out at the end of January. The May 4th Massacre - All Guilty debut full length is coming out in February. Demos from the band can be heard here: The May 4th Massacre. Members of May4th Massacre include the sons of Josh and Nate of Boy Sets Fire and are based out of Delaware. We are also opening a recording studio with Chris Ross (Torchbearer / Nora) & Chris Pierce - (Doc Hopper / Deadguy) who has manned the controls for such projects as The Ergs!, East West Blast Test, Isuki and Gridlink on Hydrahead records, the remastering of the Rorschach albums, and various other project over the last 14 years of Pierce's recording career. The studio will be located in Rahway, NJ and open in the next two months. We also have CD/DVD duplication capabilities that can handle any size run.
Derek commented “ owning a studio has been a dream of mine since I was young and held my first record.” Rachel also owns Caninus Collars (http://www.caninuscollars.com) in association with Caninus, the pitbull fronted grindcore band and side project of Most Precious Blood.
It's time that people who have been playing in bands in the HC scene for a long time to take control back of things here in NJ.

Hey Everyone,
As some of you have heard our friend Matt Miller’s (of Most Precious Blood and Our Labor of Love fame) car was broken into while he was here in Miami to photograph Chip’s and my wedding. He was parked in a Chipotle parking lot having lunch when his car and the car next to him were broken into. Such a bummer that there are people out there like this. Both Matt and his assistant at the time, Zac Wolf, lost thousands of dollars of equipment.

Crystal and I wanted to try to help them out any way that we can and started a Paypal donation account for them. I know that times are rough for most of you, but please find it in your heart to donate a dollar, 5 dollars, 50 dollars, whatever you can spare. They are amazing people and photography is their livelihoods and careers. Please help them out. Please not that they have NOTHING to do with this...this is all on us.

Donate what you can! All donations will be given to Matt Miller and his assistant to replace lost equipment. To help out please visit the following website:

Another request. I got this 3xCD compilation in the mail just yesterday, and I figured I'd up it asap. This is the 3rd and final installment of East Coast Assault compilations that Too Damn Hype Records released. The previous 2 East Coast Assault compilations have been posted here and here, and the Japanese version which combines ECA 1 & ECA 2 was posted recently by Chip, here. So yeah, we dig these East Coast Assault compilations! Here's ECA 3, which was released in 2000. There are 75 bands on this compilation, doing one song each. Some well-known names here (Brother's Keeper, Most Precious Blood, Blood Has Been Shed, Unearth), some not so well-known (Kurt Kokaine & The White Trash Jihad... seriously?!)... There's bound to be more than a few tracks on here you'll enjoy if you're into the harder stuff, which is what this comp is about for the most part. So check it out!

I've separated the downloads, one for each CD, and included scans with all of them.

According to Lambgoat, Trustkill Records will no longer be releasing records and Josh Grabelle has started Bullet Tooth, a recording and publishing company. In the statement, Josh says that the last Most Precious Blood album "Do Not Resuscitate" will be released as early as the end of this summer. Will we finally be able to hear the long lost recording? Read the article for more information as we as an interview with Josh on the history of Trustkill Records.

Bullet Tooth press release and quick Most Precious Blood blurb can be read here.

Originally released only on CD by Trustkill Records in 2005, Most Precious Blood's "Merciless" full length will finally be seeing the vinyl treatment via Bitter Melody Records. With a limited pressing of 500 copies, some of the more limited colors already seem to going quickly from their Limited Pressing webstore. You can check out their webstore here, and pick up a copy, or even a three pack with all of the limited colors.
On another note, does anyone think that the "Do Not Resuscitate" album that Most Precious Blood recorded quite a while ago will ever actually see the light of day?

Lately, I've been noticing some confusion and debate on the internet over whether Indecision was a straight edge band or not. I always thought it was common knowledge that weren't a straight edge band, but that they simply contained a couple of members that didn't shy away from being vocal about being straight edge.
The confusion stretches back as far as Indecision's first 7", which contained a straight edge song called "Loyal". Not only that, but the confusion goes a layer deeper with a flyer ad that was floating around for the 7" in which the band was labeled as "vegan moshcore".

Indecision was not a vegan band. Only two of the four tracks from that first 7" made it onto the "A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall" cd that compiled Indecision's early releases, so I went ahead and ripped the entire 7".

Later, some confusion also could have arisen from the A side center label, which was a picture of someone in a straight edge letterman's jacket.

The vinyl version of Unorthodox featured two live songs that never got released anywhere else, so I've also ripped and uploaded them. They were recorded at the cd release show for Unorthodox on January 12th, 1997 at The Joint in Staten Island where they played with Silent Majority, Milhouse, and CR.

I also went ahead and asked Indecision's singer, Tom Sheehan, a few questions about this whole matter.
SITP: Which members of Indecision were actually straight edge?
Tom: Me and Justin.
SITP: Did the other members ever object to the few songs that were about straight edge?
Tom: Not at all. They didn't really have anything to do with it.
SITP: Since a lot of people will take a band's lyrics to be representative of every member in the band, there was never a concern on their part that they would be considered straight edge even though they weren't?
Tom: Not really. We didn't have many overtly straight edge songs.
SITP: It almost seemed like the A/B side center labels of Unorthodox could be representative of both sides of the band (the straight edge letterman jacket/Sid & Nancy), but it seems like a lot of people simply took the A side label and ran with the idea of you guys as a straight edge band.
Tom: Yeah, I never realized that. I don't think it was done intentionally.
SITP: This just seems like one of those things where it wasn't a big deal to you guys at all, but as usual, hardcore kids have taken it and made it a question/concern.
Tom: Absolutely. We were just a bunch of friends from high school that started a band together. Some were edge, some weren't. It wasn't a big deal to us at all.
SITP: Do you think you guys added to the confusion at all by dedicating the first MPB record to the straight edge?
Tom: At that point we were 4/5ths edge. Just Rachel wasn't. Me, Justin, Matt, and Sean were all edge then.
SITP: Vegan moshcore?
Tom: I have no idea where that came from.

Hopefully this can end the confusion over Indecision being a straight edge band or not. On an endnote, Tom Sheehan - still straight edge. Good dude, backed hard.
