New Jerseys' For The Love Of posted a new song on their Myspace. Im pretty sure this is the first recording with Mike Olender (Burnt By The Sun) on vocals and man the song rips. Its called Diamond Ray and just overall kills. Also from what I have heard, they have a whole new record recorded. When is it coming out? I have no clue but if its anything like this new song, Im pumped. Heres a quick bio from the bands Myspace:
"For The Love OF... hailed from New Brunswick, NJ and have been one of the pillar hardcore representatives of our scene for a long time. As with all things, they have run their course. Leaving behind two great records, "Feasting on the Will of Humanity" and "In Consequence", FTLO were one of the seminal Ferret Records artists. I mean, shit...they brought a sledgehammer, pitchforks, an anvil and a gong on stage with them. Sparks flew....
FTLO, founded in 1996 by Dan Sobon, John Stanley and Scott Winchell, proved to be one of the leading artists in the hardcore/metal progression of the hardcore sound. The foundation of their legacy began with the release of their first record, "Feasting on the Will of Humanity" which was far ahead of it's time and a record that some claim as being one of the most influential releases of it's genre. Their second release, "In Consequence" stands as their final release and sadly hints at the ground the band had yet to cover. In Consequence took the band to new levels of technical perfection. The EP keeps with the heavy raw feel of the first record while breaking new groud for the band in melody and percussion. Scott's drumming on In Consequence is just short of breath-taking and adds a whole new dimension to the FTLO sound while keeping up the crushing pace of the record....
All this....until now...
For The Love Of... Returns!!! HellFest2004!!!
Official Press Release: Metalcore heroes "For the Love of..." will be reuniting for this years Hellfest(2004) to be held in Elizabeth, NJ July 23-25. It's been 5 years since the five-piece outfit disbanded. For the reunion the band recruited Burnt by the Sun frontman, Mike Olender to sing for the event. The band, formed in 1996, releasing two records on Ferret Records Label that stand as what some would call the foundation of the hardcore-metal sound. FTLO's guitarist John Stanley had this to say about the reunion: "We're all really psyched to play this years Hellfest! It's a great show for us to reunite for with tons of great bands. We've also got Mike Olender (Burnt by the Sun) fronting the band! We originally asked him to sing for us years ago, so we couldn't be more psyched to have him share the stage with us! Hopefully all the new kids at the show will still have the style that the kids tearing it up to our music did years ago. So for everyone that rembers us, you know what to expect. For those that don't, be prepared to observe the carnage!!". Hellfest promoters have not yet slotted a date for FTLO."

Awesome band, and the new song does rule hard! Anyways, I thought I'd mention that 9Volt Records released the '96 demo recordings on a 3-song CD after the Ferret releases came out. It's not mentioned on their myspace so I'm not sure whether it's legit or not, but I can rip it if interested.
Dude email me at xstuckinthepast@gmail.com
Id love to get those songs
